Who is Helm & Horizon?
Helm & Horizon is a specialist concierge for multi-day, crewed luxury charter vacations that sail out of Bali. We plan and arrange 2-to-7-night voyages from Benoa and Serangan harbours toward Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands, Lombok and onward to the Komodo region. Bookings are handled directly by the reservations team at Bali Premium Trip, our operating partner. We are not day-trip brokers.
That one sentence carries our whole reason to exist. Plenty of sites in our family cover Bali boats. Only this one is built around the overnight vacation axis: the crossings where you fall asleep at anchor off Broken Beach and wake up somewhere new. Everything below explains who runs it, how we stay honest about what we do and do not own, and exactly how a booking moves from a WhatsApp message to a chef plating dinner at sea.
What exactly does Helm & Horizon do?
We match travellers to the right crewed vessel and the right route, then hand the confirmed booking to the operator’s reservations team. Three vessel classes sail from Bali, and we program itineraries across all of them:
- Sailing yachts and catamarans — the quieter, wind-first option, as seen in the multi-day sailing itineraries that thread Benoa to the three Gili Islands and Senggigi on west Lombok.
- Motor yachts and private boats — faster point-to-point cruising; a motor yacht covers Benoa to Nusa Penida in roughly 40 minutes with a morning snorkel at Manta Point, per Boatcrowd’s Bali itinerary.
- Traditional phinisi expedition vessels — full-crew wooden ships built in places like Wera village on Sumbawa, the class that carries guests deepest toward Flores and Komodo.
What we do not do is pretend to own these vessels. Where the asset is not ours, the charter is arranged via vetted licensed partners, and the operator’s reservations team confirms availability, pricing and safety documentation before you pay anything.
Who operates Helm & Horizon?
Helm & Horizon is operated by Bali Premium Trip, a real Indonesian charter operator. Bookings, crew scheduling, provisioning and on-water logistics run through its reservations team — not through an anonymous middleman. When you contact us, you reach people who actually dispatch the boats.
The site is published by Juara Holding Group, the parent entity behind our network of specialist travel brands. We keep the publisher and the operator clearly labelled on purpose: you should always know who wrote the page and who runs the vessel.
We hold ourselves to a strict honesty rule. We will never invent an award year, a star rating, a review count or a credential we cannot verify. Where we cite a fact — a distance, a departure point, an itinerary stop — it comes from a named, checkable source and is date-stamped. Figures on this site are marked “as of 2026, subject to change,” because fuel, park fees and season windows all move.
Who writes the routes? Meet the editor
Our on-site editorial voice belongs to one named person: Renata Wijaya, charter routing editor for Helm & Horizon. Renata’s knowsAbout is deliberately narrow and deep — crewed charter routing out of Bali, and the seamanship of the Bali-to-Komodo corridor.
That means the practical things that decide whether a voyage is good: reading the Lombok Strait crossing against Mount Agung’s weather, sequencing Nusa Penida stops like Crystal Bay, Goa Giri Putri cave and Broken Beach so you hit each at the right light and tide, and pacing a longer expedition through Lombok’s Sendang Gile Waterfalls, Sumbawa and Kelimutu’s tri-coloured crater lakes toward the Komodo cruising area — an area Fraser Yachts notes was designated one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Renata’s job is to make sure every itinerary on this site is one a real crew can actually run.
What does a multi-day charter cost and how long does it run?
We publish honest ranges, not fake precision. Only one price point in our research is firm enough to quote directly; multi-day charters are shown as indicative bands that the reservations team confirms per vessel and date. All figures are as of 2026, subject to change.

We do not invent monsoon high/low-season price splits. The one seasonality fact we can stand behind is that the Benoa phinisi sunset cruise runs year-round; for multi-day sailing, we give general weather-window guidance rather than sourced pricing. If someone quotes you an exact Bali-to-Komodo weekly figure as gospel, ask them to show the source — we will not.
How does booking with us actually work?
Five steps, no surprises. The concierge does the planning; the operator’s reservations team executes.

- Confirm and deposit. Bali Premium Trip’s reservations team handles the booking, contract and payment directly. Your charter is arranged via the operator or its vetted licensed partners.
- Board and sail. Crew, chef and concierge service are set before departure. You show up at the harbour; the horizon does the rest.
